The Slaughter and May Senior Mooting Competition is the most prestigious internal mooting competition at UCL Laws. Open to all second years and above, including Erasmus and affiliate students, the moot problems are based around topics covered in the second year syllabus. The competition has been re-vitalised this year to include new mooting problems, and a series of training sessions on the unique style and formalities of mooting. Registration for this year's competition have now closed.

An optional practice moot will be held for new mooters who wish to try out mooting, or for more experienced mooters to warm up before the competition. From the Quarter-Finals onward, experienced solicitors from Slaughter and May will be judging the competition. The Grand Finals of this competition will be held at the Supreme Court, and presided over by a senior member of the judiciary. Previous judges in recent years have included The Rt Hon. Lord Justice Laws and The Rt. Hon. Lord Justice McCombe.

The Law Society has put together a detailed guide to mooting to help you develop your advocacy skills, which can be found here
