ABOUT US
In existence for over 70 years, the award-winning UCL Law Society is one of, if not, the most, lively and interactive of all student societies. With a wide range of events and activities provided to the society, we aim to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences between students.
We are keen to provide opportunities to both law and non-law students, enabling clear access to valuable resources and knowledge to those passionate in pursuing law.
We pride ourselves on our diversity and originality. We are students, elected by students, working with students for students!

In 2023, we were the winners of the LawCareers.Net Award for Best Society for Commercial Awareness.
In 2019 and 2020, we won the ‘Best Society for First Year Students’ award at the LawCareers.Net Awards. We were also nominated for the ‘Best Law Society Overall’ (2018, 2019, 2020) and ‘Best Society for Aspiring Barristers’ (2018, 2019) awards.
Also in 2020, we were a Finalist for ‘Best University Society’ at the National Undergraduate Employability (NUE) Awards and we were awarded the ‘Best Mooting’ award at the LawCareers.Net Awards.
We were nominated for ‘Best at Student Engagement’, ‘Best Law Society Overall’ and ‘Best Society for Commercial Awareness’ at the LawCareers.Net Awards 2022, being proud to take home the ‘Best Society for First-Year Students’ Award.

We are an unincorporated association, holding its property on trust in favour of its objectives and members. Since its foundations, the UCL Law Society has been independent of the UCL Union. Membership of the Society is available to both current L.L.B. students at UCL and those studying other degrees. However, affiliate membership, available to all UCL students, grants access only to our career programmes.
The Society is led by its President and is fully accountable to its members and governed by its constitution. The constitution covers a range of issues including: positions on the society; rules of elections; inner-committee decision making rules; criteria of members etc.
