Senior Mooting

The Senior Mooting Competition is the most prestigious internal mooting competition at UCL Laws. Open to all second years and above, including Erasmus and affiliate students, the moot problems are based around topics covered in the second year syllabus. The final of the competition is held in the Supreme Court and adjudicated by a senior member of the judiciary. Previous competitions have been kindly judged by notable individuals such as The Rt Hon. Lady Hale herself.

This year, the competition will be held in person and will be using electronic bundles through Casedo’s legal software, ensuring the competition is more efficient, affordable and sustainable.

An optional practice moot will be held for new mooters who wish to try out mooting. Moreover, training sessions on how to moot, how to use Casedo and an example moot will be conducted.

We also send students to national mooting leagues such as the OUP and ICCA compeititions as well as international moots such as the Ian Fletcher Insolvency Moots in which UCL is the reigning champion.
